Melissa's Cuisine: About Me

About Me

Let's start with the basics...I'm in my early 20's and I have been married to my sweet husband, Mike, since 2010.  We live in West Michigan with our adorable puppy, Champ.  We have a beautiful baby girl, Summer.  During the day, I am the office manager at a busy (and growing) counseling agency.  I spend most of my free time in the kitchen, so I've started running to avoid gaining a ton of weight from all the food I make!  So far, I've run a handful of 5k races and a half marathon.  I've recently discovered a passion for health and fitness and I love working out!  I blog about our family at Wonderful World of Melissa.

Like I mentioned above, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen!  My parents taught me my way around the kitchen at a young age and since then, I've been in love. I enjoy cooking dinner for Mike and I, our families, and friends.  However, my real passion is baking.  I read cookbooks from cover to cover, the way other people read novels!  I like to try new recipes, and create my own, but I also have a soft spot for the family recipes that Mike and I grew up with.

I blog so that I can share my passion with you, as well having a place to document and organize my recipes.  I've found the community of food bloggers to be incredible.  I've learned so much from many of them, and enjoy seeing all the ideas everyone has!

I hope you enjoy browsing my blog.  As always, if you have an questions feel free to ask me!  I'll respond quickly to questions posed in comments, but you're welcome to email me as well.  If you have any suggestions, or recipes you would like to see, I'd love to hear about those as well!  I'd love to test a product and write a review on it, or host a giveaway.  Please contact me to set up a review!
